March 3, 2017 Share 0 Tweet Share 0 If you’re looking for a quality, but inexpensive flashlight, then the J5 Tactical V1-PRO Flashlight might be one of the best options for you. It’s definitely an upgrade from the previous, J5 Tactical model, with changes and improvements in its looks and features. It’s one product I always recommend to people who are buying one for the first time or want to upgrade from their old and dusty model. It’s truly a gem at its given price point and size. It is easy to use, containing only the essential features of a quality flashlight. This bright LED light is compact, water-resistant, light in weight, and has three essential modes. The J5 Tactical Pro is quite compact, so you can easily keep it in different places. For instance, I bought a three-pack and occasionally keep one in my car, my house, and carry one in my bag. Buying a reliable flashlight that will last you a long time isn’t easy. The market is packed with different models, features, and specifications. If you’ve never bought one before, it’s only natural to not know what to look for. Flashlights are ideal tools that come in different sizes, shapes, and with different features. This means there’s one out there for everyone’s needs. However, the J5 Tactical v1-PRO isn’t your typical flashlight. If you only need to use it once a month in your garage, then I’d suggest a different model. This product is heavy-duty and ideal for everyday use, adventures, hiking, hunting, camping, fishing, emergency situations, military operations, rescue missions, etc. As I previously mentioned, it’s compact, weighing at 2.4 ounces and measuring 3.7 x 1 x 1 inches. Its size allows you to carry it around while you’re hiking or camping, without creating extra bulk or weight. Also, more importantly, is that the J5 V1-PRO is water and drop-resistant. From experience, it can take a bump and fall from up to 9 feet high. You could even submerge it in water temporarily. As you can see, this light extremely useful to the swashbuckling type who need a durable and reliable flashlight with them at all times. The design and construction of this item makes it reliable in snow, rain, and all kinds of emergency situations. Some experienced hunters and survivalist report that its aluminum case proved useful almost every time. Also, most of them like the fact that the light is evenly distributed and there are no spots of brighter light. J5 V1-PRO is powered by a single AA battery, much like its predecessor, the J5 Tactical. However, the significant difference is that the J5 Tactical V1-PRO outputs 300 lumens when powered by a regular battery. But, use a 14500 rechargeable battery instead, and you’ll notice the output increase even more. In general, its battery life is pretty impressive, lasting about three weeks if used consistently. Of course, that timetable can either increase or decrease based on your actual usage. The best is to always have spare batteries on you for just in case. If you leave it on constantly, the flashlight will have a runtime of about an hour of non-stop light. Some people swear this accessory can be used as a self-defense weapon, although I would argue with that a little. Surely, its case is resistant, but I’d guess you need something a bit harder if you’re going to hit someone. You can avoid hitting altogether maybe by just using the flash to blind your attacker. The 300 lumens it provides will surely blind anyone in a second. As far as performance, my favorite thing about this flashlight is that it can illuminate up to 600ft away, which is the length of two football fields, if you ever need that big of a reach. The flashlight has an adjustable focus range that allows you to zoom in for the intense beam, or out for wider beam. The V1-PRO has three light modes: high, low, and strobe, which are easy to toggle through with a click of the power button. This product does have some minor criticisms. Some flashlights allow you to slightly press the power button to give yourself some light without having to fully click the button. This is a feature that the V1-PRO lacks and some people feel that’s a setback. Also, customers have commented about this item’s battery life. This accessory uses a AA battery, but can’t reach the 300 lumens as labeled . However, if you put a 14500 battery, the product will reach that threshold. However, a quality 14500 battery costs a bit more and adding it would increase the overall cost of the item. In my opinion, this isn’t a major problem or a setback, but rather options we have to choose from based on preference. Below is a summary of the pros and cons of J5 Tactical V1-PRO. This is a list we compiled based on reviews and ratings. But feel free to add to the list as you get closer to your buying decision. Pros: Maximum output of 300 lumens Lightweight, small and compact Lights up to 600 feet Battery operated Water-resistant Drop-resistant Made of aluminum Cons: Batteries not included Light doesn’t turn-on with a slight press of power button To sum things up, the J5 Tactical V1-PRO is one of the most versatile flashlights on the market. It provides 300 lumens, works with rechargeable and disposable batteries, has three modes, amazing bright light and outreach, and many more. It’s great for all people who need an EDC flashlight that’s also great to use in some situations that aren’t as common. Most people use it around the house and garage, and then take it with them camping, hunting, fishing, etc. If you want a single quality flashlight to work flawlessly in almost all situations and weather conditions, I strongly recommend you try the J5 Tactical V1-PRO flashlight.
